ART 64: What To Expect

ART 64 is back for its third year on June 7th and 8th, taking over The Village for a two-day bracket-style painting tournament. Whether you’ve been every year, or this is your first time attending, we’ve created the ultimate ART 64 guide so you know what to expect.

What is ART 64?

ART 64 is a two-day bracket-style painting tournament that takes place in The Village of Wauwatosa. In three rounds, artists go head-to-head and are given 60 minutes to create a work of art on canvas. People are invited to watch the paintings come to life and vote online, both in-person or virtually, for their favorite artist to advance. All artists receive winnings for being selected and participating in the competition, increasing each round with the sole winner taking home $20,000.

Where is ART 64?

ART 64 will take place in The Village of Wauwatosa, along the closed State Street, Harwood Avenue, and Underwood Avenue, and at the Root Common Park.

When is ART 64?

ART 64 takes place on Friday, June 7th (5:00-8:00PM) and Saturday, June 8th (10:00AM-5:00PM). Artists will compete in 3 rounds:

Round 1 – Friday, 5:00-6:00PM
Round 2 – Saturday, 10:00-11:00AM
Round 3 – Saturday, 1:30-3:00PM

There will be announcements at Root Common Park after each round has ended:

Advancement to Round 2 will be around 8:00pm on Friday.
Advancement to Round 3 will be around 12:45pm on Saturday.
Final 4 and Grand Prize Winner will be announced around 4:30pm on Saturday.

Is there a cost to attend ART 64?

ART 64 is a free, yes free, family friendly event…even dogs are welcome! There will be live music and performances, as well as pop-up activities from local businesses, including free face painting, temporary tattoos, and more!

There will be food and beverage available for purchase and some truly unique experiences in between rounds. Arté will be hosting a custom lantern workshop, and The Village Cheese Shop will be taking event goers on guided tours of Wisconsin cheese.

Where can I park at ART 64?

Public street parking is available throughout the Village outside the event perimeter. Public parking lots are available on Harwood Ave west of the Menomonee River, on Wauwatosa Ave between Harwood Ave and Blanchard St, and at Hart Park. There is additional free, first-come-first-serve parking at Tosa East (7500 Milwaukee Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53213) and a lot on the southwest corner of Milwaukee Ave and Underwood Ave (across from St. Matthew’s).
