Outdoor Recreation

When we say “the great outdoors” we really mean it. Between trails and golf courses, playgrounds and pools, we’ve got everything you could look for when it comes to staying entertained outdoors. So, roll, stroll, swing, or play your way into all that Wauwatosa has to offer.

Parks

Each of our parks has something magical to discover inside. Step into green spaces with stages, skateparks, swingsets, art, rivers, and of course, natural beauty. Find your new favorite park in Wauwatosa.

Trails

It might surprise you that a city like Wauwatosa has so many trails to choose from. Take your pick for your next hike or biking excursion. Wander the 67-miles of forested trails in the Forest Exploration Center. Take a scenic ride on a portion of the Oak Leaf Trail. Enjoy park-like amenities and natural beauty on the Menomonee River Parkway. See Monarchs migrate during a special time of year on the Monarch Trail. And wind through easy paved trails on Underwood Creek Parkway.

Off Trail

Take things off trail with your bike, scooter, skateboard or rollerblades by visiting the pump track at Firefly Grove Park. Or head to Hart Park to dip into the bowls at the Tosa Skate Park.

Golf

Wauwatosa is home to two golf courses. Aim for the green on the 18-hole course at Currie Park Golf Course, or perfect your short game at Hansen Park Golf Course.

Playgrounds & Pools

There’s no shortage of fun for our youngest visitors and residents. Many of our parks feature playground structures to keep little ones entertained. And for those sunny summer days, they can cool off at the Pool at Hoyt Park.
