Locals aren’t the only one who are in on the Wauwatosa dining scene. The MICHELIN Guide officially announced its expansion to the Great Lakes region, giving Milwaukee and nearby areas like Wauwatosa a seat at the table for global recognition in the dining and hospitality community.
Known as the global benchmark for dining excellence, The MICHELIN Guide evaluates restaurants based on their quality of ingredients, technique, flavor, the personality of the chef, and consistency over time. Evaluators anonymously visit restaurants and experience the same menu, atmosphere, and service you do. The results, and MICHELIN Stars, will be announced in 2027 and hopefully we’ll see a few Wauwatosa establishments on the list.
Wauwatosa isn’t new to national recognition. Many of our local chefs have been awarded by the James Beard Foundation over the years. The newest finalist in the Best Chef in the Midwest category is Zak Baker of Ca’Lucchenzo. Baker joins an already long list of nationally recognized Wauwatosa chefs.
This is an exciting time for our area, our chefs, and our community, to showcase what we already know to be true: that Wauwatosa has award-winning flavor. But now, this guide gives us an opportunity to welcome new visitors, support local business, and showcase our city’s growing reputation as a culinary destination.
So come hungry, bring your friends, and enjoy something truly delicious in Wauwatosa.
