A Wild Outdoor Activity for Families

The Milwaukee County Zoo is the perfect place to get your kiddos laughing and learning this summer. Walk through the outdoor exhibits and experience critters from all around the globe –like Belle the Elephant and Maya the Giraffe. Daily capacity will be limited to accommodate social distancing, so make sure you purchase tickets and parking passes online ahead of time. Your family will have tons of fun viewing the outdoor animal exhibits, walking the 190-acre grounds, and enjoying favorite attractions like the train, carousel, and the summer exhibit Dinosaurs Unearthed.

Magical Murals of East Tosa

Family Outdoor Art: A Creative Combination!

East Tosa is home to vibrant murals all within walking distance of one another that make the perfect selfie backdrop for both the young and young at heart. Discover critters like a six-eyed tiger on BelAir Cantina and a larger than life goldfish on Tosa Yoga. These pops of color will get the kids creativity flowing… and perhaps their stomachs growling. Treat them to an award-winning chocolate chip cookie from Rocket Baby Bakery (best in the state!) or a tasty doughnut from Cranky Al’s. We recommend parents try a Danish from RBB or Alton Brown’s favorite cruller from Cranky Al’s. You can’t go wrong with whatever you decide. Enjoy your treats outside at the 69th St. Plaza—a hip gathering place with giant lounge chairs, picnic tables, and canopy shade that will leave you feeling recharged – East Tosa style.

TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park

Soak Up The Sun While Swimming With The Crew

Jump –or cannon ball– into summer fun at TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park. The kids will love zipping down the giant slide and exploring the water playset while you soak up some Vitamin D on the pool deck. Of course, the pool will operate a little differently this year, following guidelines provided by the CDC, Milwaukee County, and the Wauwatosa Health Department.  Pool-goers can make a reservation ahead of time, which will ensure your visit won’t be a flop.

Hartung Park

Family Friendly Park In Wauwatosa

Hartung Park is the perfect park for little ones needing to burn off some energy. Since the park is built on the site of a former quarry, kids will have fun exploring the hilly grounds snaked with windy trails. The park playground boasts endless entertainment—imagine the kiddos whooshing down slides, drumming up a beat on the bongos, and swinging until their heart is content. Wrap up your visit exploring the picturesque stone labyrinth—a sweet spot to get together for a family photo op. We promise you won’t feel overwhelmed at this park. It’s super manageable for young families making it a stress-free pit stop for a fun afternoon in the sun.
